Our Story

The streets of Kenwood are lined with over 1,200 Yoshino cherry trees, which were originally planted in the 1930s and 1940s. The first Kenwood Garden Club meeting was held in January of 1947, with 12 Kenwood neighbors. Our meetings are on the first Monday of the month at 10 am. We are a 501(c)3 organization and collaborate on community projects with the Kenwood Citizens Association. Several of our members have been Presidents of the National Association of Garden Clubs and National Capital Area Garden Clubs, and many are Master Gardeners and Flower Show Judges.
